Who we are

Welcome to Gwerin Y Gŵyr, the Swansea branch of Regia Anglorum, a Dark Ages Reenactment and Living History Society. If you’ve ever wanted to spend your weekends bashing seven shades out of like-minded people, or wondered what life was like 1000 years ago (there was more involved than just the slaying and pillaging) then this is for you.

In addition we take part in displays both local and national, help out at a local historical monument and can give talks and demonstrations of a variety of authentic crafts and combat techniques.

Hopefully this site will be of use to both the participants in our group and interested members of the public, so have fun exploring the site, and remember…

“Oni byddi gryf, bydd gyfrwys.” (If you can’t be strong, be cunning.)

The Gwerin y Gwyr have a long standing relationship with the friends of Oystermouth castle and help out at at this historical monument.  More information on Oystermouth castle can be found on their web page, here:  http://oystermouthcastle.wordpress.com/

NOTE: This is currently a Work In Progress. Please bear with us while we transfer our website here and begin the process of updating. In the meantime, the old site is still live and all the content will eventually be brought over. You can still accesss the old site here: http://www.gwerin.ndo.co.uk
